To anyone trying to have a damn good day.

Whatever it is:

Mid-life crisis that creeps in and makes itself at home on any given Tuesday.

Boy or girl or person who makes you feel “less than.”

Not getting the job, the raise, the gig.

Feeling like you’ve lost something. Actually losing something.

First, rise above the bullshit.

You’re better than these circumstances you’ve found yourself in. Maybe you can’t control other people, but you can find the power in your own reaction.

Read this carefully: You’re allowed to have low moments, but you’re better than your lowest moments.

Take inventory of what’s good. And yes, it’ll be different for different people.

Grass is always greener, but find the good. Don’t look too hard. Be gracious, and have gratitude.

Your job security. Your lash game. Steady income. Weekend plans. Good health. Friends and family. That thing you’re working toward.

You may have a mountain in front of you. Before you take the time and energy to tackle it, consider: What do I do that puts me in a good headspace?

Sweating. Meditating. Writing. Sleeping.

Before you even waste incredibly precious moments of your life beginning to unravel your current entanglement, do that. You owe yourself a clear mind and open heart before you take your problem, head on.

And then, when it’s finally time to address things,

before you do, know –

We are smart. Strong. Successful. And sick of allowing this shit to keep us down.

Last week, someone I admire and respect very much reminded me: What’s meant to be will come to you. And if it doesn’t work out, there’s a reason, even if you’re not able to see it right now. Trust that something in the universe is stepping in to protect you, saving you from going too far down a path not meant for you.

Breathe. You’re about to have a damn good day.
