The She’s from Buffalo Holiday Gift Guide

There’s no better time to shop woman-owned in Western New York than the holiday season.

Consider this: When you buy gifts from local shops and owner-operated businesses, you rarely have to worry about buying someone a sweater they already have or giving a present the person won’t even use.

Here are my picks for the 2022 holiday season.

For the person that seems impossible to shop for.

Gift cards and class passes to woman-owned fitness studios are crowd-pleasers, especially as we all inevitably head into the New Year with guilt over the gluttony of the holidays.

Revolution, Rock Pile, and Sweat 716 are my top picks this year.

Stocking stuffers that satisfy.

Carve out a few hours spent on Elmwood during your day off. Buffalo ShopCraft and Thin Ice are both woman-owned, and within walking distance of each other.

They’re the type of shops where you can find a little something for everyone.

“I don’t even know if I should get them a gift.”

My rule: If you’re not sure about exchanging gifts, at least bring something for the table. I like crowd pleasers from Bread Hive, and then sweets from Ohlson’s Bakery, Fairy Cakes Cupcakery, and Fig Tree Patisserie.

“I literally think this person has everything.”

Photo prints are a simply way to spruce up any desk, room, or reading corner. And most people don’t think to buy a print for themselves!

My girl Sara Schmidle Photography has the best prints for sale on her site.

Balling on a budget.

Give the gift of quality time! [And don’t roll your eyes.]

In all seriousness, when life gets busy during the rest of the year, the holidays are a perfect excuse to catch up with an old friend or loved one over coffee, tea, or juice.

TOASTED, Clarence Center Coffee Co., and Five Points Bakery all offer the perfect ambiance for this.

However you’re celebrating, Happy Holidays!
