In Honor of #PatioSzn, 10 Favorite [Woman-Owned] Outdoor Spaces

Ah, patio season. The sacred time of year for Western New Yorkers is [almost] officially upon us.

If you’re new to town, yes, that really just means we’ve made it to the select months when the warmer temps beckon us to soak up every possible minute outdoors.

And if you’re like me–on those perfect, sunny days, you really can’t bear the thought of sipping your iced coffee or Aperol spritz indoors.

I’m happy to save you the legwork.

These 10 woman-owned local businesses are my favorite picks for patio season in Western New York.

1) Globe Market, Elmwood Village

This centrally-located Elmwood nook often flies under the radar, IMHO. A great spot for weekday lunch meet-ups, regardless of where you’re working from.

2) Casa Azul, Allentown

Don’t let the Allentown location fool you when it comes to the surprisingly significant size of their patio, making this hub for margaritas and Mexican fare a staple for summer happy hours.

3) New York Beer Project, Lockport

Summer bucket list: Spend an evening watching the sun slip down as you’re enjoying a couple NYBP seasonal brews around one of their fire pits.

4) Hartman’s Distilling Co., Downtown

Two [hyphenated] words: Garage-style. Doors. One of the perks of hitting Hartman’s for drinks on a summer day is how you never feel like you’re stuck inside.

5) Twin Petrels Seltzer Co., Downtown

The newcomer on the Buffalo happy hour scene has taken over the space made famous as Resurgence’s original location on Niagara Street.

6) JAM Parkside, Parkside

The outdoor space is limited, but if you’re an early bird, nothing beats snagging one of JAM’s Adirondack chairs to enjoy your morning coffee.

7) Five Points Bakery, West Side

One of Buffalo’s best-kept secrets for a space to watch summer days slip away–and listen to local jazz musicians. Shh!

8) Orange Cat Coffee Co., Lewiston

It really just feels like you’re drinking coffee on a neighbor’s front lawn. And it’s lovely.

9) Canal Club 62, North Tonawanda

For the inevitable nights you find yourself wondering, “where can I go to sit outside, sip a drink, and order pizza?” Here. You can go here.

10) Breezy Burrito Bar, Elmwood Village

Another central location that works whether you’re kicking off your day or looking to wind down.
